Boys Lacrosse

Fall Indoor LAX season 07/08

Joe Tirone and I are pleased to welcome you back to another season of Towsontowne Recreation Boy's Indoor Lacrosse. This is an excellent opportunity for the boys to have fun and keep their skills sharp.

We are planning to enter 1- 2 teams each in Tyker, Lightning, Midget and Junior age groups. Space is limited. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis with first priority to returning spring, 2007 players. We will open registration to everyone on September 1st. A link to the Indoor Registration form should be available in the Boys Lacrosse section of the www.ttrec.org website by August 1st.

Please download the form from the website and send it completed with your check to Eileen Wilcox (address on form) as soon as possible to save your spot.

While the cost of operating indoor facilities continues to rise, we have been able to keep the cost at   $155, the same as last indoor season.

Please send your registration and money to Eileen Wilcox (address on form) as soon as possible to save your spot.

Again, registration will be open to all beginning September 1st.

As always, these teams will play one game per week from early-October to mid-January and there will be no practices. A schedule will be available at www.marylandindoorlax.com closer to the start of the season. Although the league's game schedule is not within our control, we will again ask that the Tyker and Lightning age groups be given the earlier games. Games will be played at either PAC (Perring Athletic) or Owings Mills Sportsplex (OMS).

The main objective of indoor lacrosse at Towsontowne is the same as outdoor, to have lots of fun, while learning to improve and compete in the great game of lacrosse with good sportsmanship. We will ask the coaches to work closely with their indoor players to foster positive play and attitudes on the field and to avoid the bad habits often formed during the indoor season.

After not having it last year, we are excited to announce we will be holding our Winter Goalie Track(1.5 hours per week on Mondays) and 2-3 face-off clinics (specific Monday dates to be determined). These specialized tracks will be held from mid-January thru mid-February and will be run by college and professional experienced goalies and face-off specialists with the assistance of area high school players. In the past we were able to boast a low coach to player ratio for our Winter sessions and hope to do so again. In past years, we were able to offer this highly specialized opportunity free of charge, however due to rising utilities and field rental costs, we are requesting a $35 donation to Towsontowne Boys Lacrosse.

Again, space is limited (with approximately 12 players per team) and the rosters will fill up fast. Do not delay if your son wants to play indoor. Please feel free to contact Joe or me should you have any questions.

Thank you.
