Campers bring their own lunch, as no regular food service is provided. Usually on Fridays, however, Ridge Ruxton Campers are treated to pizza and drinks, courtesy of the program. There is a nurse hired by the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks who visits camp frequently to help with medication and provide guidance and advice to the camp staff. There is a staff person qualified in First Aid and CPR on site at all times. The camp staff is a group of dedicated and interested employees of many ages, with varying levels of experience. Staff is trained by personnel from the Department's Therapeutic Recreation Office. Many young people of middle and high school age also volunteer at Ridge Ruxton Camp, giving many kinds of support to the staff. These volunteers do earn community service hours that can be applied toward their educational requirement. The Towsontowne Recreation & Parks Council and Ridge Ruxton Camp reserve the right to refund registration monies and remove from the camp rolls any camper who displays behavior disruptive to the camp or detrimental to the welfare or enjoyment of other campers.
